MX-5 WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT 2021 ELVINGTON, YORKSHIRE
MX-5 WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT SUNDAY JUNE 20th 2021
Back in 2019 the MX-5 Owners Club attempted to go for the Mazdas in parade World Record and bring the title back to the UK.
While we came so very, very close, a small number of participants meant the attempt was unsuccessful. Everyone had worked so hard, including everyone who took part on the day to 'close the gap'. Taking all of the learnings from that attempt, working to the government restrictions and updated World Record attempt guidelines, we plan to make a safe return to Elvington Airfield on June 20th.
Update revisions to the Guidance on 6th April 2021 have meant some delays to our planning for the attempt. Registration is on hold. Fill in your email below to be contacted as soon as registration opens.
It is highly likely the attempt can proceed on 20th June as a track venue based sporting event. no spectators will be permitted and all participants will be required to remain in their vehicle whilst on site.
Covid secure facilities and refreshments will be on site, but it is recommended that participants make a comfort and refreshment stop in nearby facilities.
Gaps in the line and a car changing lane at the line broke the last record attempt.
